New Features

So i just wanted to outline some of the new features I added to the site, so I’ll start out with the share link button. You can click the link at the bottom of each post and page to share the article, photos, or whatever content with your contacts on Myspace, Facebook, Blogger, Digg, Delicious, Twitter, etc. You can e-mail or bookmark the page using the same link. Give it a try!

Next, I added the ability to send money via PayPal, for site and photo hosting. Right now I’m using 1&1 Internet for hosting the site, which gives me ample monthly bandwidth for the purpose, and I’m using Flickr.com as hosting for photos. I want to move to hosting everything here so that it’s self contained, so that’ll be one change in the near future. The whole site is built on WordPress, with a boatload of plugins that add the extra functionality. To sen money, just find a coffee cup at the bottom of every post, page and on the sidebar and click.

There’s a new contact form for e-mailing right from the site, but If I start getting lots of SPAM I’ll have to get rid of it…

Last but not least, I added a little widget that shows the local weather in Okinawa.

Site Updates

As you can see, a lot has changed on the site today… I’ve tweaked and probed it all day (in between dirty diapers) but still have a lot to do, especially with the photo galleries. I’m planning to have it all hosted here on the site so it’s accessible from anywhere.

Register your own account on the site, we won’t sell you e-mail to spammers, and your password will stay encrypted. If you want to contribute content to the site, let me know and I’ll upgrade you to a contributor so you can post.

Please bear with me as I tweak pages. If something looks out of whack, try again later and hopefully I’ve fixed it. Also, let me know if you need something fixed!

I have a couple videos to post, they’re uploading now, and I’ll post them here when I get home later today. One is ~100MB and the other is ~174 MB because I haven’t edited them at all, so I’d suggest downloading them once instead of streaming from the site.
